The Sacramento Claims Association continues to thrive. The group's April luncheon meeting at the Lion's Gate Garden Pavilion Conference Center, up and around the corner from the main meeting area, drew yet another full house.
One of the reason's for the group's success has to be the quality of speakers sharing their knowledge with industry professionals. The April 10th crowd were treated to an entertaining and informative presentation on Employment Practices Liability from attorney Adam Corren, of the Law Offices of Corren and Corren.
A specialist in employment matters, Mr. Corren utilized his knowledge to create a forum with the members and guests in attendance, effectively engaging and involving the group in a discussion on various levels of employment issues. Such a broad-based topic allowed for many perspectives to be brought to the table, and he provided a safe space for people to ask someone in the know about their own employment practices concerns.
“This was a really wonderful meeting,” said SCA member Ken Ridings, of Engineering Design & Testing. Whether an employee of a carrier, or small business owner service provider to the industry, Corren had the bases covered, and the crowd engaged.
The meeting also featured a brief but heartfelt presentation from long-time member Dawn Dawson, of AAA. Dawn is involved with a group involved in rescuing young girls being sold into prostitution. She is spending her Fourth of July Summer vacation actually traveling to Cambodia to help out. She, and the group, are seeking out some generous fund-raising sponsors to help them on their mission. Contact Dawn for more information: dawn_dawson@csaa.com.
SCA President, Art Coussoulis, did his part in reminding the group that it is sadly primarily American Corporate businessmen who are exploiting these innocents.
