I am honored that the new board of directors for 2010 has requested that I accept the presidency for the coming year, and appreciate the confidence they have in my leadership. My first order of business is to acknowledge the fabulous job that Art Coussoulis and Barbara Prosch did in transforming the

Lionsgate ballroom for the SCA Winter Party into a dazzling venue. The huge balloons with tiny twinkling lights that lined the walls and decorated the tables were spectacular as was every aspect of the carefully coordinated event. There is so much work that goes into a party of this magnitude that it is hard to find words that will reflect the level of dedication but the best I can do is to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’. Besides Art and Barbara’s obvious contributions, Danell Cassetta deserves credit for keeping track of ticket sales for the event and Joan Barrett tracked the housing requests for the evening. Bryan Harrison and his lovely wife, Patricia, worked steadily the entire evening to produce beautiful photos of the attendees in order to have them ready for the guests to take home. On the SCA website you will have the opportunity to purchase reprints from Association Network News or have your photo added to a mug for a memento of the evening.

Lionsgate is a wonderful place to have a function from the perspective of the organizers. If you have a wedding or other large event coming up in your company or your family I can recommend without reservation the services that Lionsgate has to offer. They bend over backwards so that our every request for the monthly luncheons and the Winter Party is taken care of promptly. They treat their hotel guests with the same care as reported by people who had stayed the night and were very satisfied with the accommodations. I feel that the Lionsgate staff has the same values and attitudes that we strive for in all of our business and personal dealings. We are so pleased with our experience with the SCA that Sams & Associates will be arranging our 20th Anniversary celebration at the Lionsgate later this year.

Congratulations to the new board members, Iain Wallace; Michael Bentz; Mike Shepherd and Geoff Jolliff. This year we have the very dedicated continuing board members along with the enthusiastic new members that will allow stability but bring a fresh set of ideas. I wish the new members a splendid three years on the board of directors and look forward this year to all that this board will accomplish.

We as the board of directors for the SCA are totally committed to continuing the growth track of the SCA. We will work hard to provide the type of training and industry related speakers that will be of interest and meaningful for all. My thanks to you all for your continued support of the SCA and hope you get your membership renewals into Cata Jimenez without delay.
