As I look at the successes and the challenges our beloved association has experienced this year, I find it encouraging that we, as an organization, are still able to come together - this time of year, especially - in harmonious fashion to honor and celebrate the work of some of our favorite non-profits.
We began with this process much earlier in the year, as we were fortunate enough to able to present a check at our annual golf tournament to the Firefighters Burn Institute. With everything that’s occurred since then, we are all the more proud and grateful to be associated with this fine and much needed resource.
We plan to keep the goodwill momentum rolling for our annual Charities luncheon scheduled for this Thursday, December 14, at Lions Gate Hotel. We will once again be giving focus to the Firefighters Burn Institute, as well as the phenomenal work of the Union Gospel Mission. We hope to have representatives from these fine organizations attend the luncheon and share with us some of the invaluable work they are doing.
We will once again be having a canned food drive that day, as well, so please bring all you can to the luncheon and we will make sure it gets to the Sacramento Food Bank!
In addition, we will conduct an election of new board members for 2018. For those interested in joining our board, please complete the application you’ll find on our web site: www.SacramentoClaims.org.
For a lot of people, the Holiday Season can be like running in a long, grueling race but with some really nice and relaxing “water stations” along the course. I hope all you run a great race and finish well in your “Holiday Run”! Hopefully, we will see you soon! Thanks again!
