Celebrating Chosen Charitable Beneficiaries!

January 2018 President's Message

By Steve Moore, SCA President

Happy 2018! While much of the world likely stopped and celebrated the holiday season, many of us were busy running from here to there to help on claims. I hope you had a wonderful Holiday time of year all the same.

I want to thank everyone who came out to our December luncheon meeting. The Charitable Giving aspect of the SCA is something we can all take great pride in and, this year especially, having an organization like Union Gospel Mission as our beneficiary was so perfect. Last year, Cathrin Nevin, our Giving Committee Chair for the past several years, made every effort to be able to do something to benefit those in our area who find themselves living with homelessness. We made some efforts, but it just didn’t quite come together as we/she had envisioned.

This year, following her sudden passing, our board re-affirmed the desire to see that wish through. The work being done at Union Gospel Mission really measures up beautifully to all Cathrin had expressed to see happen. We are all very grateful for that.

I would like to welcome our newest addition to the Board of Directors, Ms. Nanette Larson, of Unified Investigations. Nanette’s been engaged in the goings-on of this organization, and we are very pleased to now have her on the board.

As we look to the coming season and year, I can’t tell you how excited I am, and we all are, to be bringing some style and class back to our annual Winter Gala party. Jason Kettlehut and Tami Umland have taken the reins, and have plans for what should prove to be one of our best events yet. Please plan to join us Saturday, February 17th, and support this event to whatever level fits for you.

Happy New Year!
